What is the record that is being attempted?

The Guinness World Record that is being attempted is 'Most people firewalking consecutively - single venue'.

The current record was organised by Eastbourne Scouts in New Zealand who achieved their fantastic record on 28th April 2012 when 608 people completed the feat!

We are looking to beat this and raise loads of money for local community organisations within Kirklees by having 1,000 people complete the challenge.

Who We Are

We are the team who organise Meltham Christmas Lights each year. We put up the lights, have the countdown, switch them off, take them down and repeat it each year! We are looking to recruit more volunteers in Meltham to help make this task less onerous. Get in touch if you'd like to help out.

We held a tester event in Meltham a few months ago - we decided this was a great idea!

safety is paramount

We are a volunteer community group, so we won't be running the event ourselves. We will have the appropriate insurances and safety measures (including road closures, first aid etc), however this event wouldn't be possible without the superb advice, planning and input that we have had from our firewalking partner, Ignite Firewalking. If you'd like them to run a corporate event, get in touch!
